Meet Jenny O’Brien, Children’s House 1 Lead Teacher

Miss Jenny.jpg

Jenny has been involved in Montessori education for over 3 decades, most of her career, she’s enjoyed teaching at MSOW. She has always known she had a passion and love for working with young children and is still in awe at the growth and learning capacity of children between ages 3 through 6 years!

Early in her career Jenny earned her Early Childhood I and II certification. While working with preschool children in a traditional capacity, she visited a Montessori school just to observe and find out what Montessori “looked” like, she fell in love and pursued her training credential and the Montessori Method in Illinois the next day!  “It remains inspirational to see children learning through this philosophy with the materials and watch them absorb concepts while becoming more independent, and it is my pleasure to be a part of it!”

Jenny's two children attended Montessori schools. Jenny appreciates her varied background in Montessori settings as an intern, assistant, co-teacher, substitute, and guide. She credits working alongside some very talented teachers for her well-rounded approach in the classroom. Jenny enjoys the outdoors, boating, hiking, travel, live music, reading, cooking and eating great food while spending time with family and friends.
